Paintings, my aims
Nature has an elemental, almost vital function for me and has shaped me early-on.
My paintings emerge from the direct perception of nature, space, colour and light. The motif is of no importance at first. It may be mountains, water, plants, which arouse my interest because of their arrangement, structure or the particular light in which I perceive them.
The original perception is changed through brushstrokes and colour. Sometimes the graphical element comes to the fore, sometimes the light, the space or the surface of things.
Images develop thus in which it is no longer about the place where or by which they were created, but about the possibilities of art itself. Colour, imagined space and light. Lines become independent, turning into surface structures as well as form boundaries.
